Naomi Watts

 

Naomi Ellen Watts was born 28 September 1968. Following the move of her family to Australia, Watts made her debut in For Love Alone (1986). Later, she was a part of three TV series: Hey Dad.. (1990) and Brides of Christ(91) and Home and Away (91) and Flirting (1991). After moving to the United States, Watts initially struggled to become an actress, performing in small-scale movies until she made her debut in David Lynch's psychological thriller Mulholland Drive in 2001 as an actress in training. This was the beginning of her rise to fame internationally. Watts then portrayed a tortured journalist in the horror remake The Ring (2002). She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as a grief-stricken mother in Alejandro film 21 Grams (2003). Her star power continued to grow when she appeared in I Heart Huckabees (2004). King Kong (2006), Eastern Promises ((2007)) and The International (2009). Watts was also nominated for the Academy Award as Best Actress for her role in The Impossible (2012). She appeared in films such as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014) and While We're Young (2015). Watts also continued to play in blockbusters, and made appearances in the Divergent franchise (2015-2016).
