Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara is a famous American actress and singer, both of Irish descent. The fiery, passionate role she played in numerous American films attracted attention to the green-eyed beauty. Her beauty and glamour were awe-inspiring. Also, she was known as the 'Queen Of Technicolor and was a household name in Hollywood. Her roles onscreen reflect her brave, strong character. She fought for respect and survival within a male-dominated society. She often referred to herself as the "tough Irish lass" who was never willing to compromise her honor and status to get the roles she wanted through merit. In all her years in the field of film she always spoke out against injustice and improper treatment against women actors and for this, she gained a lot of followers. Her autobiography, 'Tis Herself released in 2004 gave an honest and unfiltered account of her entire life's experiences, including the struggles as she climbed the ladder to achieve success. She was an adventurous lady who didn't fear doing her own stunts. She appeared in more than 60 films and was a international star. After she left Parra the couple got married Charles F. Blair Jr. in 1968. Blair was a brigadier and chief pilot and a pioneer in transatlantic aviation. She finally retired after few years of marriage. Blair was tragically killed during an airplane crash in 1978, ending her happiness. The same year, she was diagnosed with having uterine cancer and had to undergo an immediate operation. She was able to recover. The following years her health deteriorated and she suffered from six heart attacks, short-term memory loss and diabetes mellitus type 2. On 24 October 2015, O'Hara died peacefully in Boise, Idaho, from natural causes at 95.
